Men, don't go away! Please read on just a minute.
This message is for all the women in our community, who are NOT currently enrolled in a Naples Tango class. If you are a MAN reading this, because you might know a woman who would enjoy this class. So I urge you to forward the link at the end of this posting to your women friends, main squeeze, daughters, and colleagues. (Here it is for your convenience: http://tiny.cc/womenstechnique .)
I mentioned this class last week, together with an technique option for men. Many women responded immediately!
So here again are the benefits of the class and then the details:

Women's Tango Technique & "Adornos" (Embellishments)
Tuesdays 5:30-6:30 PM, June 29-August 25, 2009
at the Backstage Dance Academy, 5400 Jaeger Road (off Pine Ridge; Jaeger's about a block east of Noodles)
1) For women who don't yet dance or study Argentine Tango:
Back in Italy, where I had a big tango school, I also called this class "The Grace of a Tanguera" for women who haven't yet started dance tango. It uses the body language of tango to strengthen your sense of balance and add grace and sensuality to your movements in general. Even if you are not in one of my tango courses, these lessons will prepare your body to know how to respond to the man's various invitations to move within his embrace (i.e., "the lead").
Please read on to find out even more:
2) For women who already dance Argentine Tango (beginners through advanced levels):
- the Technique part of this course will help you master your balance faster, and execute your dance movements like a Queen, gracefully and with more confidence.
- The "Adornos" (Embellishments) part is the fun part, that feeds your creativity and artistry, and helps you develop your own "signature" when you dance tango.
Embellishments are what you can do with your free foot and leg (you are always standing on one leg with the other leg free) during pauses in the music: curlicues, big and little round gestures, high and low spikes, syncopations, games - and lots more fun things that let you infuse the dance with your personality, while the man is the primary improviser.
You can really develop your own musicality by practicing "adornos". And while they're technically just artistic, expressive movements, men find them sexy when you use them well. Learning "adornos" also helps your balance tremendously.
